Swimming pool in Hofn

The country of Iceland is home to several natural hot springs, opulent man-made lagoons, and swimming pools, which are virtually ubiquitous, even in the tiniest towns. It makes sense to visit all of the warm pools where you can relax because each location has its own unique spirit and pleasant ambience.

Iceland has a large number of natural thermal springs as a result of its substantial usage of geothermal energy. Any of them, some of which are paid and others which are free, can help you relax throughout the day or at night. While staying in Hofn (in south east of Iceland), passing through, or just visiting the town, you can relax at the community pool by taking a bath and unwinding in warm water.

Please be aware that before entering the water, all visitors must take a full shower without wearing a swimsuit.

Size and facilities

The outdoor 25-meter swimming pool in Höfn was inaugurated in 2009. It is family-friendly and welcoming. Disability access is excellent, and there are covered sunbathing areas.

Prices and tickets

You can visit the swimming pool in Hofn in any day of year, doesn´t matter if its summer or winter. You can buy ticket just for a single entrance, or get a ticket with discount for 10, 30 or all year visits. The tickets are available at the reception inside the main building of the pool and you can pay with cash or a credit card there.

Adress, location and contacts

Getting to swimming pool in Höfn is not difficult at all. The town is pretty small and you the location of the pool is just in the centre of the town, not far away from the main.

You will need to drive into the town and drive straight, until you will see the building of Olís gas station on the left side and the Kaffi Hornid on the right side.
Take turn right at this crossroad and you will see the swimming pool just in front of you, on the right side. There you´ll find the parking lot, which is free and entrance to the local swimming pool.

Alternatives: Swimming pools, hot springs and lagoons nearby

Unfortunately there are not many alternatives, if you want to soak yourself in the warm water. The only alternative nearby are Hoffel hot tubs, just in the mountains before the Hofn.

You can find there 5 nice hot tubs, located just in the middle of nature. If you decide to visit this place, expect to pay a small admission fee which is around 7 EUR/1000 ISK.
