Swimming pool Egilsstaðir

Same as in almost every small town, even in Egilsstadir you can find local swimming pool, where you can chill and warm yourself up after day of travel in cold rainy days through all the year. There is very simple, 25 m long pool and few slides. Just next to the swimming pool is gym and travelers can you use nearby camping places for stay over.

Please be aware that before entering the water, all visitors must take a full shower without wearing a swimsuit.

Size and facilities

The Egilsstaðir swimming pool is located next to the Egilsstaðir Sportscenter.
It has a 25-meter-long outdoor swimming pool, two hot tubs, a children’s pool, and a water slide.

In addition to the main pool, there are:

2 hot tubs
1 children pool
1 water slider
sauna (steam bath)
sitting area

In the same building where is the pool located is possible to use local gym.

Prices and tickets

The swimming pool in Egilsstaðir has reasonable prices, which are slightly lower than the national average in Iceland. The standard admission price for adults is 1050 ISK, but children and seniors receive a discount. If you live nearby or are staying in town for an extended period of time, you can use the package for 10 visits, which is slightly less expensive. Tickets can be purchased with cash or by credit card.

Please keep in mind that there is no admission 30 minutes before closing time. Guests are asked to leave the building no later than 15 minutes after it has closed.

Adress, location and contacts

It doesn´t matter from which direction will you arrive to Egilsstadir, as long as you stay on the main road N1. As you drive more into the town, you will see small gas station and fast food called Skálinn. There you turn up the hill on the street called Tjarnarbraut and continue few hundred meters, until you reach the sport centre and swimming pool building.
