Heydalur geothermal hot pot & pool

Simply across the fjord Mjóifjörur is another geothermal hot spring where you can bathe. This one is more intriguing than the others because it has not one, but two pools (plus one across the river).

There is one natural hot tub outside, and one man-made geothermal pool inside the greenhouse. If you want to visit all three hot springs, we recommend staying at Hotel Heydalur, where you will have full access to the pool inside, the hot spring outside, and it is only a short walk to the last natural pool.

Galtahryggjarlaug hot pot nearby

The third hot spring in the Heydalur area is known as Galtahryggjarlaug. You will find a small hot spring a little further away from the Heydalur hotel, which you can visit even if you are not a guest of the hotel.
