Hellulaug hot pot at Flókalundur is one of the best and also most well-kept pools and hot springs in Westfjords.
It cannot be compared to any significant lagoon in Iceland, such as the well-known Blue Lagoon or the recently opened Forest Lagoon near Akureyri, but it can be an added benefit and a justification for going to this pool.
The pool itself is not particularly large; it has a maximum diameter of 4 meters and a maximum depth of 60 cm. However, as is the case with these little natural hot springs in Iceland, you normally only share the space with a limited number of other tourists, or if you’re lucky, you might even be there by yourself. There, you may simply take in the lovely views of the beach and ocean while swimming in the 38°C warm water.
