Vínbudin alcohol store Vík

Vínbudin is Iceland’s State Alcohol and Tobacco Company. It has a monopoly on the retail sale of alcohol.

Vínbudin in Vík í Mýrdal, the liquor store, sells light wine, spirits, beer, liqueurs, and other beverages, as well as advice on selecting the best wine for your occasion.

One of the company’s responsibilities is to ensure that customers are over the age of 20, and identification checks are strictly enforced in the liquor store.

Alcohol is expensive in Iceland due to high taxes, but it can be purchased tax-free at the airport’s Tax Free Store, which is located next to the baggage claim area.
